What really matters to you?

Time, love, friendship, family, memories, and experiences are what matter to me most. Good health has also become a top priority these days, for without it, all the other things are at stake.

What brings you happiness?

Simple and grand memory-making moments shared with husband, daughter, family and friends. Spreading kindness. Practicing gratitude.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced?

I can honestly say that my life thus far has not been filled with many hardships, and for that I am grateful every single day. My 'challenges' have been no different than those that other women, mothers, daughters, friends, students, wives, and writers face in our sometimes competitive and complicated world. Challenges are part of life for all of us. Thankfully, I have been blessed with good health, the support of a loving spouse, a loyal coterie of family and friends, and the best daughter a mother could ask for. Again, I am so very grateful.

What would you change if you could?

Well, that is a huge yet vague question. If I could change some people's minds about the importance a healthy planet, I would. If I could change certain attitudes toward women, our abilities, and our rights to bodily autonomy, I would. If I could change leaders' minds about the dire need for more affordable healthcare and higher paid public school teachers, I would. But alas, those are the 'what ifs' of a dreamer. The best I can do is try to turn them into action within my own small sphere of influence, and implore others to do the same.

What single word do you identify with?

Dynamic.

DYNAMIC

Zero in on what you love. Do it often and with passion.
