From Babysitter to Mother

Katie was a little older than my girls and grew up alongside our family through the community we shared during those years. She used to babysit my daughters, and now she has a family of her own. Like her mom, she became a second grade teacher and takes a lot of pride in her classroom and her students.

We kept this session simple and relaxed inside the studio, allowing space for movement, connection, and the personality of her little one to naturally unfold. Some moments were playful, some quiet, and some beautifully chaotic in the way family sessions with toddlers often are. Those are usually the moments that end up feeling the most real later on.

One of the things I love most about family photography is documenting these changing seasons before they move on. Children grow quickly. Families evolve. What feels ordinary now becomes part of the story later.

It was a joy to photograph the Katie, Ben, and Paige and to witness another generation beginning their own chapter.
