Lynette Moore-Witte
I met Lynette Moore-Witte at a summer party last year, and she’s such a joyful addition to our community. Not only is she restoring a historic home with her husband, but she’s also a devoted cat rescue parent—which makes her an official Sharon Springs local. She’s already deeply involved, serving on not one but two boards, and somehow still finds time to share a glass of wine and a porch chat now and then—though never as often as I’d like, especially once the summer season picks up. I’m grateful our paths cross often, especially at one of my favorite places, the Fenimore Art Museum, where she works. I’m lucky to call her a friend and look forward to watching all the beauty she brings to this place unfold.
What really matters to you?
To focus on the good, follow my happiness, and love my people.
What brings you happiness?
Listening to the birds each morning, watching the animals that visit my property, holding hands with my husband, watching the sunset, trips with my Tribe, all four seasons, sharing meals with friends, visiting and talking with my family, and cuddles from my cats.
What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced?
Watching someone you love dying and still finding the words to comfort them, to reassure them even as your own heart is breaking. I miss my parents every day.
What would you change if you could?
I wish I had the confidence I have now when I was younger and not care what others thought.
What single word do you identify with?
GRATITUDE
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.

Thank you Lynette!
About Lynette
I followed my dream three years ago and moved to Sharon Springs, NY. I wake up every day truly blessed to be in a place that brings me so much joy. I married my husband, Tim, in our field last fall and had the best day with our friends and family by our sides. We are slowly renovating our 220+ year old house to fulfill my dream of having a bed and breakfast, and also creating our own outdoor oasis with flower beds, a vegetable garden, trails to the creek, and places to watch the sunset. Currently I work at Fenimore Art Museum and Fenimore Farm as the Executive and Development Coordinator and Events Manager. I’m the Board President for the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce and a Board member of the Schoharie Arts Council.
