Meet Julie-Anne Lee

I’m beyond thrilled to bring you Julie-Anne Lee. She first came onto my radar when a mutual friend pointed me toward her Daily Love Nudges on Instagram. Delivered with her beautiful Australian accent, they immediately resonated. One message in particular stayed with me: “The life you came here to live is already yours.”

We had such a wonderful time in the studio, with plenty of laughter, life conversations and even an epiphany or two between shots. Julie-Anne has a way of making something we tend to complicate feel very simple: we are here to live the life that was put on our hearts, and so often, we’re the ones standing in the way of it.

I highly recommend following Julie-Anne on Instagram and reading her book, The ALLOW Method. And as you’ll see in these photographs, she radiates joy. When Julie-Anne smiles, her entire face smiles.

What really matters to you?

That people get to live the life they came here for. I believe every one of us has something in us that was put there on purpose, and most people talk themselves out of it, letting fear, doubt, and external circumstances stop them. My own kids matter more than anything. And the reason I do what I do is something I believe completely: that individual freedom leads to collective liberation. One person taking the self-responsibility to love themselves, embody inner security, and live their dreams has a priceless positive ripple on the world.

What brings you happiness?

My kids, my man, my dog, walking along the beach, and the autonomy of my time. And watching someone's dream actually come to fruition. There is nothing that brings me more joy than seeing someone let in the life they came for.

to hold the vision for them.”

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced?

The real one was always on the inside. My own self-hatred and my negative mind. I called it LSE, the disease of low self-esteem. I tried to figure it all out, and that self-reliance was self-torture, and nothing changed until I conceded my own way did not work. That felt like giving up at the time, which is why I resisted it for so long. On the outside, it looked like divorce, body image, an eating disorder, and financial instability, but those were just the outside experiences of my internal state.

What would you change if you could?

I'd have all the isms not exist. Racism, sexism, all of it. And I'd change the way power and money work, because this system is set up to keep people afraid and small, and frightened people don't ask for much. The way I go about it is one person at a time, because someone who isn't run by fear or scarcity or needing approval can't be leveraged by any of it. That is complete freedom…and it's free.
